Where does maksimi.fi's data come from?
maksimi.fi tracks the Finnish car market and compiles listing details, prices and price changes, and time on market. The price and sales history is data maksimi.fi has compiled itself.
How often is the data updated?
Data is updated several times a day, so listings, price changes and recent sales stay current.
Can I search for a car by registration number or VIN?
Yes. Enter the registration number or VIN in the search field on the front page, and you'll go straight to that car's page if it's in the service.
Can I see how a car's asking price has changed?
Yes. A car's page shows price changes and earlier listings, so you can see whether the asking price was lowered or raised during the sale.
What does "Similar cars" mean?
It lists comparable cars of the same model, so you can compare price, mileage and equipment.
What is the price estimate based on?
The price estimate is calculated from the prices of similar-aged cars of the same model. It's indicative, not an offer.
What does the price rating (for example "market price") mean?
It compares the car's asking price to the price level of similar cars, and shows whether the asking price is below, at, or above market.
What does the equipment rating tell me?
The equipment rating compares the car's notable equipment to other cars of the same model and age group, and shows whether the equipment level is below average, typical, or above average.
What costs are estimated on a car's page?
A car's page includes calculated estimates for vehicle tax, insurance and financing, as well as EV charging and tyres. The estimates are indicative.
How reliable are the tax, insurance and financing estimates?
They are calculated, indicative estimates. Check binding figures with the tax authority, your insurer and your lender before making decisions.
Can I bookmark cars?
Yes. The Saved feature lets you keep track of cars you're interested in. Saved cars stay only in your own device's browser.
Can I buy or sell a car on maksimi.fi?
Not directly. maksimi.fi isn't a marketplace but a search service that shows listings and their details. The sale itself happens through the original listing and seller.
