1. Scope

The maksimi.fi service is provided by Actus Analytics Group Oy (Finnish business ID 3647312-5, registered office in Espoo, Finland). In these terms, maksimi.fi means both the service and its provider. The terms apply to the use of the service and all its language versions, pages and features. Use of the service is free of charge. By using the service you accept these terms.

2. The service

maksimi.fi shows the used cars for sale in Finland, Estonia, Sweden and Germany with their listing details and their price and sales history, and provides search, comparison and estimate features. maksimi.fi compiles this data itself.

maksimi.fi is a marketplace: a seller publishes their car as a listing in the service, and a buyer contacts the seller through the service. The service also contains listings compiled from other services, in which case the sale is made through the original listing and seller. maksimi.fi does not own or sell the cars advertised, is not a party to the contract of sale, and does not sell a car on the owner’s behalf or act as a representative of either party. The contract of sale is concluded between the buyer and the seller, and any claims concerning it are addressed to the other party. Some features are available only when signed in.

3. User account

Some features, such as search alerts and submitting a listing, require a user account. The account is created with an email address, and the user is responsible for the address being their own and in use. The account is personal and may not be transferred, and one person creates one account. The service is not directed at children: creating an account requires being of legal age or having a guardian’s consent.

Account details must be kept up to date. You can delete your account at any time on the account page. We may terminate an account with 30 days’ notice. The right to close an account immediately in case of misuse applies regardless.

4. Own listings

The person submitting a listing is responsible for having the right to sell the advertised car and to publish its photos, and for the accuracy of the details given. The listing publishes the car’s registration number or vehicle identification number (VIN), or both.

A listing must meet the following conditions:

  • One listing covers one car, and the same car appears in the service as one listing at a time.
  • The car details are correct, in particular the mileage, the year of first registration and the asking price. The asking price is the car’s actual price including taxes, with no mandatory items left out.
  • Significant unrepaired damage and a replaced engine or transmission are disclosed in the listing.
  • The photos show the car the listing is about. A catalogue photo is marked as such.
  • The listing contains no other person’s contact or personal details, no advertising, no links to external sites and no words intended to mislead the search.
  • The listing is marked as sold or removed as soon as the car is no longer available.

Listings are checked before publication and may be rejected or removed if they do not meet these terms. A listing is valid for 60 days at a time and can be renewed; a reminder is emailed before it expires.

By publishing a listing, the seller grants maksimi.fi a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide and transferable right to use the content of the listing in the service, in its history records and in statistics. The right remains in force irrespective of the ending of the listing, the sale or the right of use. Buyer enquiries are forwarded to the seller.

5. Reviews

Both dealers and car models can be reviewed. Reviewing a dealer requires that the writer has personally dealt with them; reviewing a car model requires that they own or have owned such a car. Every review is confirmed by email address and checked before publication. We publish a review if it meets the following conditions:

  • The experience is first-hand and concerns the dealer or car model the review is about.
  • The text contains no employee names, contact details or other personal data.
  • The text contains no insults, threats, discriminatory content or unfounded accusations of crime.
  • The text is not an advertisement or link spam, and concerns dealing with the dealer or owning the car.
  • One person writes one review per dealer or car model.
  • If the writer represents the dealer being reviewed, this is stated on the form and shown with the text.

A reply can be written under a review. The reply must relate to the review and must not contain advertising, personal data or offensive content. If the writer of a reply represents the dealer being reviewed, this is stated on the form and shown with the reply.

Reviews are not filtered by rating, and the subject of a review cannot influence its publication. A review may be removed if it breaks the conditions above, if it turns out to be false, or if there is another legal reason for removal. An unhappy customer is not a reason for removal. If only part of a text breaks the rules, only that part is removed.

Reviews are the opinions of their writers. maksimi.fi cannot verify whether the writer bought a car from the dealer or owned the model they review, and is not responsible for the content of reviews. Inappropriate content can be reported with the link next to every text.

6. Business users

Dealer sites, dealer listing management and other business services are additionally governed by the business terms. In case of conflict, the business terms prevail for business use.

7. Prohibited use

The service is intended for browsing and comparing cars. The following is not permitted:

  • Systematic copying, automated bulk collection and text and data mining of the content, including by an AI agent, robot or any other program. The rights to text and data mining are reserved.
  • Using the content of the service to train AI models without written permission.
  • Republishing the content, embedding it on another site or connecting it to another service without permission.
  • Bypassing the search and browsing interface, and accessing the data other than through the service’s own interface.
  • Placing an unreasonable load on the service, probing its security and disrupting its operation.
  • Manipulating search results with incorrect or misleading details, and entering search words that do not describe the car.
  • Publishing false listings, reviews or replies, and impersonating someone else.
  • Using contact details obtained through the service for marketing or for anything other than the matter the enquiry concerned.
  • Circumventing a suspension with a new account or email address.

8. Moderation and consequences

We do not monitor all user-generated content in advance, but we check listings and reviews before publication and may also investigate content on our own initiative. If a user breaks the law, the rights of a third party or these terms, we may:

  • remove a listing, review, reply or other content, or block access to it
  • issue a warning to the user
  • restrict the use of features
  • suspend the account temporarily or permanently and terminate the right of use

Both automated means and human review are used in checking content. The measure is chosen according to the seriousness of the breach. We inform the user of the measure and its grounds by email, and the decision can be appealed within six months by replying to that message or at info@maksimi.fi. A permanently suspended user may not create a new account.

9. Reporting illegal content

If you consider content in the service illegal or in breach of these terms, report it. A review or a reply can be reported directly with the link next to the text; other reports are received at info@maksimi.fi. Tell us which content the report concerns and why you consider it illegal. The page address is enough to identify it. We handle reports without undue delay and inform you of the outcome if you have left contact details. Repeatedly sending unfounded reports may lead to processing being suspended. Reports can be made in Finnish or English, and the same address serves as the contact point for authorities.

10. Order of search results and advertising

The user chooses the order of search results. By default the most recent listings come first, and the order can be changed by price, mileage, model year or price estimate, for example. Position cannot be bought: payment does not move any listing higher in the search results.

The service contains advertisements and partner links. Advertisements are labelled as such, and a partner link may earn the service a commission. The advertiser or partner is responsible for their own content, products and websites.

11. Accuracy of data and estimates

Data is presented as available. We do not guarantee its accuracy, currency or availability. The service's calculated estimates, such as price, equipment, tax, insurance and financing estimates, are indicative and do not constitute an offer or advice. Verify details against the original listing and with the seller before making a purchase decision.

12. Availability and changes to the service

The service is available as it is at any given time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability: maintenance, faults and network outages may limit use, and we give advance notice of foreseeable interruptions where possible. We may change features, add them and discontinue them. We are not liable for delay or interruption caused by an obstacle beyond our control.

13. Limitation of liability

The person who posted a listing is responsible for its content, and the writer of a review for the content of the review. We are not liable for the accuracy or completeness of listings, nor for whether a listing complies with the law. Nor are we liable for the transaction between users, its terms or its completion.

The service is used at your own risk. We are not liable for indirect damages such as lost profit, nor for the content of third-party websites. These limitations do not apply to damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, and they do not limit the rights a consumer has under mandatory law.

14. User responsibility

If a third party makes a claim against maksimi.fi on the grounds that a user’s listing, review or other use of the service infringes their rights, the user is responsible for the claim and for the reasonable costs of dealing with it. This does not apply where the user is not responsible for the infringement.

15. Trademarks and affiliations

maksimi.fi is not affiliated with car dealers or with the people who post listings. Makes, models and business names are trademarks of their respective owners.

16. Rights in the content of the service

The service's look, structure, texts, illustrations, databases and compiled dataset are protected, and the rights to them belong to maksimi.fi or its licensors. The content of individual listings and reviews belongs to its original rights holders. The service is intended for personal, non-commercial browsing and comparison of cars.

17. End of the right of use

When an account is deleted or the right of use ends, the account features stop being available and any listings on sale end. The personal data in the account is deleted as described in the privacy policy. The right to use listing content already published, and the listing, price and sales history of the vehicle, remain in force as agreed in section 4. Provisions that by their nature are intended to survive, such as the limitations of liability, the rights of use and the rights in the content of the service, remain in force after the right of use ends.

18. Transfer of the agreement and other terms

maksimi.fi may transfer these terms and the rights and obligations under them to the acquiring company in connection with a business transfer. The transfer will be announced in the service. If any provision of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in force and the invalid provision is replaced by the closest permissible one. If we do not invoke a right under these terms on some occasion, that does not mean we waive it. Notices to a user are sent to the email address on the account or shown in the service.

19. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Changes take effect when published in the service, and the update date is shown at the top of the page. If a change is material for an account holder, we give notice by email or in the service at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you do not accept a change, you can delete your account before it takes effect.

20. Governing law and dispute resolution

These terms and the service are governed by Finnish law. A consumer also has the protection of the mandatory consumer law of their country of residence.

Disagreements are primarily settled by negotiation. A consumer may refer the matter to the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariita.fi); before that it is advisable to contact Consumer Advisory Services (kuluttajaneuvonta.fi). A consumer may also bring an action before the district court of their place of residence. Other disputes are heard by the District Court of Helsinki.
