Sell your car

Creating a listing is free.

How a listing comes together

  1. Look up the car by registration number or VIN. Make, model, technical details and equipment are filled in for you.
  2. Add photos and a description. At least one photo is required, and there is room for 40.
  3. Set the asking price. The price estimate and comparable cars update as you fill in the form.
  4. Submit the listing. We check it before publication, and you get an email once it is visible.

What you get

  • A price estimate for your own car while you are still filling in the form.
  • Comparable cars alongside it: what the same model is being asked for right now.
  • The listing stays up for 60 days and can be renewed.
  • The price can be changed after publication without another review.

What you need to create a listing

The car is identified by its registration number or VIN, and that identifier also appears in the published listing. Either one works for the lookup: when the car is found in the database, the make, model, year, technical details and equipment are filled in for you, leaving the mileage and condition to check.

Publication also requires at least one photo, a description of at least a couple of sentences, a location, and the fuel type, transmission, body style, power and drivetrain. These are not formalities but search fields: without them the car will not appear in the filtered searches buyers actually browse.

How to set the asking price

The form calculates a price estimate as you fill it in, and comparable cars are shown alongside it: cars of the same model from nearby years, both currently for sale and already sold. The estimate is a conditional median asking price, so half of comparable cars are asking less and half more.

You can price above the estimate to leave room for negotiation, or below it to sell faster. Both are reasonable, and the choice depends on how urgent the sale is. The price can be lowered later without another review, so starting at the top end commits you to nothing.

How long a listing stays up

A published listing stays up for 60 days. After that it is withdrawn automatically unless you renew it, which is how sold cars avoid lingering in search results. Renewal takes one click, and you get an email reminder before the time runs out.

What buyers see

The listing shows the car details, photos, description, price, contact name and location. Your email address is not shown: enquiries go through the site. A phone number is optional, and you choose whether it appears in the listing.

Frequently asked questions

What does listing a car cost?

Nothing. Creating a listing, editing it and renewing it are all free, and no payment details are needed to publish.

How quickly does the listing go live?

Every listing is checked before publication, and you get an email once it is visible. The check also covers later content changes, but a price change alone takes effect immediately.

Does the registration number have to be published?

The listing publishes either the registration number or the VIN; one of the two is enough. The identifier lets buyers verify the car themselves, and it is the same key used to fill the technical details and history into the form.

How many photos can a listing have?

Up to 40. At least one is required before publication, and the order can be changed afterwards — the first photo is the one buyers see in search results.

Can I edit the listing after publishing?

Yes. The price changes immediately and other edits take effect after a review. The listing stays on sale with its previous content throughout, so editing does not interrupt the sale.
