Look up a car by registration number
A registration number, VIN or maksimi.fi ID takes you straight to the car. The same field also finds makes, models and dealers.
What does the search show?
With a registration number or VIN you can find a car’s listing details: the asking price and its changes, time on the market, technical specifications, an estimate of the annual vehicle tax and compatible tyre sizes. The search covers cars for sale and, for a few days, cars that have just been sold. The same field also finds makes, models and dealers with their own statistics pages, and turns a phrase into a ready-made search: “black estate 2019” opens the matching listings.
Frequently asked questions
What can I find out about a car with its registration number?
You can see the car’s listing details: the asking price and its changes, time on the market, technical specifications and an estimate of the annual vehicle tax. A sold listing stays visible for a few days after the sale.
Does the search work with a VIN?
Yes. You can also search with the 17-character vehicle identification number (VIN). A VIN search finds the car even if its registration number has changed.
Can I find a car that has already been sold?
A recently sold one, yes: the listing stays visible for a few days after the sale. After that the car is removed from view. If the same car goes back on sale later, its page also shows the earlier listings and price history.
Why can’t I find the car I’m looking for?
A car is found if it is currently for sale or was sold very recently. If it has never been listed, or more time has passed since the sale, it will not be found.
