Tämä keskimoottorinen hiilikuiturungolla varustettu kaunotar on saanut nimensä Mika Häkkisen ja David Coulthardin MP4/12 Formula1 -kilpurin mukaan. McLaren MP4-12C pesee suorituskyvyssä saman aikakauden Ferrari 458:t ja Lamborghini Huracanit jo vakiona, mutta tarjoaa turboahdettuna myös huikean virityspotentiaalin. Aktiivisen alustan ansiosta McLarenin ajomukavuus on superautojen joukossa aivan omaa luokkaansa. Valmistajan Formula1 -tausta näkyy useassa kohdassa.
