Auto on nähtävillä Alastaron toimipisteessämme Saab 99 Turbo (1977-1980) aloitti aikanaan ensimmäisenä (vuonna 1977) sarjatuotantomalleissa turbomoottorin käytön. Auto esiteltiin Frankfurtin autonäyttelyssä vuonna 1977. Sitä ennen BMW ja Porsche olivat julkistaneet turbomoottoreilla varustellut mallinsa, mutta vasta Saab toi moottorit, jotka soveltuivat myös siviilikäyttöön. Autossa oli Garrett T3 -turboahdin, jolla saatiin kasvatettua auton suorituskykyä lähes 25%.
